Vijay’s new movie, where he teams up with director Jayam Raja, has been titled as Velayudham, as per sources. Ilayathalapathy Vijay is currently shooting for the movie Kaavalkaran, directed by Siddique.
Velayudham movie cast is still under finalization. As per sources the the search is going on for heroine of the film and several leading heroines of south india are consideration. Harris Jayaraj has been signed up to score the music.
Vijay, 'Velayudham', Nehru Stadium
The Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai has of late become a preferred destination of biggies in Kollywood to host film-related functions in the sprawling structure, which could house thousands at a time.
And now, Aascar Ravichandran, producer of Vijay's 52nd film tentatively titled 'Velayudham', is planning to hold the movie's launch function at the stadium, in the presence of big guns of the industry.
Remember Ravichandran conducted the audio launch function of Kamal Haasan's K S Ravikumar directed 'Dasavatharam' in the same place, and the event was attended by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and Jackie Chan among others.
It is said that the launch of the movie directed by 'Jayam' Raja would be held at the Nehru Stadium by June and those at Aascar are busy making arrangements for the grand event.
Triple offer from Vijay
Vijay is at an important cross road now. With controversies and criticisms mounting Ilaya Thalapathi has finally decided to put everything to rest and make every body happy.
As the first step Vijay has decided to release three films this year to make the theatre owners happy. Siddique's ‘Kaavalkaran’ is 60% complete and is generating good trade talk so far. ‘Jayam’ Raja is also ready for ‘Velayudham’ and there will be an official announcement next week.
Also there is news about Vijay giving his consent to do the remake of ‘3-Idiots’ in Tamil. It’s likely that Vijay will announce this at the launch function of ‘Velayudham’.
With these sudden developments the theatre owners are convinced and are ready for Vijay films again.

The final cast of the movie is yet to be released. Vijay' Velayudham will have two heroines Genelia andHansika Motwani and a sister character in this film.
The sister role is a weighty character and who gets to bag this sister role remains the million dollar question in Kollywood arena. While some sources say that Saranya Mohan is under consideration, a few says that Subramaniyapuram Swathiis under consideration and a few others point to ‘Poo’ Parvathi.
Actress Parvathi made her way from God’s own country striking with a spectacular debut in Kollywood with ‘Poo’. The actress has won various awards for her astounding performance. Although she received more offers in Tamil film industry, she did not take up any offers as she seems not to have felt those roles powerful as in her debut.
Looks like Parvathi also has a strong chance of bagging this character.
